MARC REMBOLD (*1963), ZURICH, SWITZERLAND
MARC REMBOLD wurde 1963 in Zürich geboren. Bis Ende der 90er-Jahre lebte und arbeitete er zwischen Paris und Basel. Seine Karriere zeigt einen konstanten Dialog zwischen Malerei, Skulptur, Mixed Media, Installation und Objekt. Marc Rembold begann in den 1980ern, seine eigene künstlerische Sprache zu entwickeln. Eine zentrale Rolle nimmt das Thema Farbe und Licht in Beziehung zum Raum ein.
Bereits im Jahr 1980 begann er damit, sein eigenes Farbkonzept namens „Light in Colour“ zu entwickeln, das bis heute unerreicht bleibt. „Light in Colour“ definiert sich als lebendige Farbe, die sich entsprechend der wechselnden Temperatur verändert. Im Jahr 2000 arbeitete er an seiner Werkserie „Liquids“, für die er sich vom Farbspektrum elektromagnetischer Wellen hat inspirieren lassen. Das Ergebnis – ein „Manifest an die Immaterialität des Materiellen“ – sind psychedelische Farbverläufe in kräftigen und lebendigen Farben.
Marc Rembold wurde in Europa, Nordamerika, Asien und im arabischen Raum ausgestellt. Seine Werke sind Teil von namhaften privaten und öffentlichen Sammlungen in der Schweiz, in Europa, in den Vereinigten Staaten, Kanada, Asien und den VAE (u.a. Hoffmann-La Roche Collection, Basel; Saks Fifth Avenue Stores & Corporate, New York)

MARC REMBOLD was born in 1963 in Zurich. Till the end of the 1990s, he lived and worked between Paris and Basel. His career features a constant dialogue between paintings, sculptures, mixed media, installations, and objects. Marc has started to develop his own artistic language in the 1980s. He focuses on the themes related to the transformation of colour and light.
Back in 1980, he began developing his colour concept called „Light in Colour“ which, to this day, has yet to be equalled. “Light in Colour” is defined as living colours, which change colour with the temperature of the light. In 2000, he worked on the realisation of his series Liquids, in which colours were inspired from the electromagnetic waves of the light spectrum. The work, “a manifest of the immaterial to material”, brings visible the realm of the light’s invisible colour spectrum.
Marc has exhibited in Europe, North America, Asia, and the Arab world. His works are included in prestigious private and corporate collections in Switzerland, Europe, the United States, Canada, Asia and the UAE (Hoffmann-La Roche Collection, Basel; Saks Fifth Avenue Stores & Corporate, New York etc.)
